Harry Tanoe Establishes New Organization
JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Media mogul Harry Tanoesoedibjo, owner of MNC Group and former chairman of Nasdem Party's Experts Council, plans to establish a new mass organization, which will be called as Persatuan Indonesia (Perindo), former secretary general of Nasdem Party Ahmad Rofiq revealed.
“(Perindo) will be launched next month,” said Ahmad Rofiq, as quoted by Detik.com on Sunday (Jan 27).
Harry Tanoe establishes the new mass organization as a first choice after resigning from Nasdem. Harry also revealed about the possibility to establish new political party or to join other political parties.
Harry Tanoe  has just resigned from Nasdem on Monday (Jan 21). Several Nasdem leaders like Ahmad Rofiq (secretary general of Nasdem Party) and Taufik Haq (deputy secretary general of Nasdem Party) have also followed Harry's decision to leave the party.
Harry Tanoe confirmed that his decision to resign was triggered by a plan of Surya Paloh to take over party’s chairmanship. “The problem is simple... I want to maintain the party’s current structure without any change. We, seniors, should encouraging youth to work more. But Pak Surya Paloh wants a change and he wants to be party chairman,” said Harry Tanoe on Monday.
Hary Tanoe also stated that his television’s network will automatically stop to displaying political advertisement from Nasdem Party.
Media mogul Surya Paloh, meanwhile, has just formally been crowned as new Nasdem Party chairman in Nasdem first national congress held since Friday in Jakarta.
Nasdem Party, is a newly established party on July 26, 2011, that emerged out of the social organization Nasional Demokrat led by Surya Paloh, a former advisory board chairman of Golkar Party. Surya and friends established Nasdem on February 1st, 2010, immediately after losing the battle for Golkar Party chairmanship to Aburizal Bakrie in October 2009. Nasdem is the only new political party eligible to contest in next year's legislative election, competing nine other parties with seats in the current House of Representatives (DPR).
